What will happen to the old Concert Hall?
Planning is underway in the area of the existing Turku Concert Hall based on the winning competition entry "Agora" created by Rakennusliike Lapti Oy and Lundén Architecture Company. In their proposal, the existing Concert Hall and other buildings protected by the draft detailed plan would be preserved, and a versatile sports and culture centre for children and youth would be located in the Concert Hall building. The buildings on the site will be handed over to the future owners in phases as they are vacated by the present users.
The Turku Music Hall Fuuga project will be carried out under a collaborative alliance model, and the project plan was prepared in close cooperation between the alliance partners. The goal is to achieve the high quality criteria set for the Music Hall in a cost-effective and risk-free manner.
Turku Music Hall Fuuga will feature two auditoriums: a 1,300-seat main concert hall and a 300-seat multipurpose hall. The Music Hall will also contain a restaurant open to the public throughout the day, as well as a rooftop terrace with a restaurant and garden.
